An Opportunity to Learn…

Over at reallivepirate, an ecumenical and possible interfaith group of us are studying Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s The Cost of Discipleship together. I feel a bit like the lone heretic, but that’s okay because I think the book and discussion will provide an opportunity for deep and wide-ranging theological reflection.

The book is easy to find, contemporary, and for a theological text, not too daunting.
I wonder if I can get them to read Charles Hartshorne next?

  1. I’m glad you’ve commented too. 🙂 My bible study/small group is going to be studying “The Soul of Christianity” by Huston Smith over Lent… I think Bonhoeffer’s a bit deeper, but that’s probably my bias.
