I’m sitting in the student lounge at Starr King:
There are six students here.
One is writing a paper. Not sure of the subject, but she hasn’t looked up much, writing intensely.
One is reading The Souls of Black Folk by W.E.B. DuBois and Soul Work. A pile of books is sitting nearby, and being occasionally referenced.
One is reading The Postcolonial Biblical Reader and a book about the Psalms, highlighting like mad.
Every single one of them is studying.
Just sayin.’

this image brings wild tears to my eyes.

Do they still have those little square maroon pillows in the student lounge they had when we were students? I loved those pillows
I never thought I would apply the words “sounds like law school” to Starr King, but hey, I guess stranger things have happened.
